I am excited about having had the opportunity to coordinate my very own hair photo shoot that I wanted to give you a sneak peek into all the fun, love and energy that went into making the day successful. I have styled hair for professional photo shoots before but not one with my own vision from beginning to end. When I decided I was going to coordinate my own photo shoot the brainstorming and research began. Many that know me personally know that I can be overly analytical at times, as such, finalizing a complete theme and look was a nail biter.
I reached out to Thien La of Thien La Photography based in Charlotte, NC and asked if he would help me with my shoot. Thien is an amazing photographer most known for his high fashion editorial work that has graced the pages of many magazines including Vogue. Thien is truly a gifted artist who is blunt, comical and down to earth. Next, I needed a make-up artist and I was ecstatic when Tanya Clark of AboutFaces Artistry, agreed to come and do make-up. Tanya is a self-motivated, always on the go, professionally published make-up artist based in the Atlanta, GA area.
With this photo shoot my goal was to create three diverse looks which displayed my versatility in working with various hair textures, my creativity in styling hair and my technical ability in hair care and style. A special Thank You goes out to my models for giving my vision life. Once the photo shoot was all wrapped up I was confident that I was successful at accomplishing my goal.
