Thea and Frank’s love sparked almost six years ago when they crossed each others paths in Washington, DC.\u00a0 Ironically, Thea and Frank attended the same University at the same time while\u00a0persuing their undergraduate degrees but did not cross each others paths until a little later in life.\u00a0 As Thea recalls, she was the “third wheel” hanging out with some friends the night Frank approached her for her number and the rest was history.<\/p>\n

Thea and Franks wedding was an intimate evening filled with elegance, love and laughs.\u00a0 The John Marshall Ballrooms<\/a><\/span> were the perfect event space leaving all of their guests in awe!\u00a0 From floral arrangements, table settings, open bar to the food, no detail went overlooked.<\/p>\n

The Booking and Consultation<\/span><\/p>\n

Thea has been a long time friend of mine so when I learned she was getting married I was excited for them both and the big day!\u00a0 Thea booked me\u00a0as her bridal hairstylist for her engagement shoot,<\/p>\n

bridal portraits and wedding day; of course I was naturally thrilled.\u00a0 Just as I do with all my brides who entrust me with their hair, I take the assignment as a huge responsibility.<\/p>\n

Thea was certainly not your cookie cutter bride which made this experience even more exciting.\u00a0 During her scheduled bridal consultation she shared ideas of what direction she wanted for her hair and I provided my professional feedback based on her hair texture, hair length, face shape and dress style.\u00a0 I always encourage each bride to have a bridal consultation because this will allow you and your hairstylist the opportunity to communicate expectations, review visual inspiration photos, assess the need for hair extensions, see yourself in a\u00a0complete hair look, and more.\u00a0 See more tips from my previous post “The\u00a0Bridal Hair Checklist<\/span><\/a>” to help you prepare for your bridal hair experience.<\/p>\n

The Hair Decision<\/span><\/p>\n

After discussing and exchanging many visual hair inspiration photos, a hairstyle for Thea’s bridal portrait and her wedding day were finalized!\u00a0 TWO DIFFERENT LOOKS!\u00a0 If you follow my\u00a0mane<\/em>.ediTS<\/strong> social media platforms<\/a><\/span> you\u00a0may have seen\u00a0where one of my bridal industry peers and PROs shared advice on this very concept; should your bridal portrait look be the same as your wedding day look?\u00a0 Tiwa Lawrence<\/a><\/span>, Bridal Makeup Artist & Beauty Educator, answered this perfectly by saying, “It all depends on the Brides intentions for her shoot.\u00a0 If her goal is to envision her complete wedding day look, then it would be ideal for her to have the [hair\/makeup] artist create the exact look for the shoot.\u00a0 However, if the Bride is open to creativity, she could use the bridal shoot to fulfill her fantasy [hair\/makeup] look and at the same time have lasting images to add to her wedding experience!”<\/em><\/p>\n

I absolutely loved both of Thea’s looks because they\u00a0complimented her very well.\u00a0 Thea’s bridal portrait\u00a0hair was much more creative\/editorial in nature with a deep side part pulled into an overly full and tussled low ponytail.\u00a0 Hair extensions were used to add volume and length.\u00a0 This ultra glam look was breathtaking and clean!<\/p>\n

Thea’s wedding day hair was nothing short of ROMANCE!\u00a0 Prominent waves with a side part and face framing fringe complimented her entire look effortlessly.<\/p>\n
