What is GHOE?

Considering I am just now coming down off my #GHOE adrenaline high I decided to write a post.  So, what is GHOE you might ask, it stands for Greatest Homecoming On Earth and applies to the 
homecoming activities at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University located in Greensboro, NC.  In my opinion, GHOE represents the largest “TurntUp” homecoming of any Historically Black College or University (HBCU).  Whether you are a current Aggie student, Aggie Alum or even a friend of an Aggie, homecoming is a time where everyone comes together to enjoy and show their support.

From the vendors, tailgates, football game, greek plots, bar crawls and parties there is something for everyone.  If you are anything like me, I always look forward to getting a fish plate from none other than Mr. V’s Fish and Chips.  This is one food vendor you have to get to early or you will be waiting in line for a while but trust me its worth it!  This year I attended the homecoming game which we won against Norfolk State … AGGIE PRIDE!!  As always, the band did an exceptional job and even had past and present Golden Delight dancers perform in honor of their anniversary.

The homecoming spirit continued all the way across campus to the greek plots.  Some like to argue that their homecoming is better than A&T’s without even attending an A&T homecoming … this is
called wishful thinking.  All I can say is come and see for yourself why we call it #GHOE!  Until then, take a look at the video clip below capturing the true yard hype from the Alpha plot at GHOE2012.  Every year you are sure to see some sights and have a good time!

For the past few years, NXLEVEL Entertainment has been the dominant party promoter for GHOE
selling out parties weeks in advance.  They host separate day parties and night parties which cater to
both current college students and alum.  Attending any of their parties you are sure to have a good time!

I couldn’t complete my GHOE weekend without having an official GHOE tee.  Walking around on the yard many people stopped me and asked where they could find my tee and I had to tell them… online. #GHOEHard

NOW ABOUT THAT HAIR!  Last year during GHOE, hands down the trending hair style was BIG and natural.  This year the hair trend was long hair don’t care, the longer the better!  Whether 100% synthetic or %100 human, $9.99 or $99.99, straight or wavy, black or blonde, glued or sew’n it didn’t matter it was in someones head.  The key to successfully wearing long extensions is primarily maintenance and confidence.  Ensuring the hair is detangled and not resembling a stiff birds nest is very important.  Density is also a key factor during install because you want to install enough hair so your extensions aren’t looking like thin ends.  If you are going to opt for adding long hair then you need to be prepared to put in a few extra dollars to ensure you have enough hair.

 

Overall, this year GHOE was definitely one for the record books.  Can I get an AGGIE PRIDE!
