Style Fix: What You May Be Doing Wrong When You Rinse Your Conditioner

mane.ediTSEveryone enjoys and can appreciate a well done shampoo.  From the warm water cascading down the scalp, the enriched shampoo worked into a lather, the relaxing scalp massage as fingers work to help cleanse the hair and scalp to the application of the conditioning mask that you trust will leave your hair feeling and looking its best.  Have you ever thought to yourself, “Why doesn’t my hair look or feel as good as it does when I leave the salon?”  Well, your problem may be something as simple as how you rinse out your conditioner.

When doing at home maintenance in between salon visits you may not replicate every step as your stylist and that’s Okay.  One tip to maintaining the soft and shiny look you admire when leaving the salon is to rinse your conditioner out with cool water.  Doing a final rinse of your conditioner with cool water (not freezing cold) instead of warm water helps seal the cuticle layer of the hair to lock in moisture and shine.

Very informative! It took me a long time to learn that trick and sometimes i still make the mistake of rinsing out my conditioner with cool water…but it makes the world of difference with the luster of your hair. I have a dusty luster to my hair lol so when i condition esp. deep cond. i rinse it out with the coolest water i can stand……I love ya site Tracey!

I’ve always read about that, I’ve even seen a demo on youtube, but I never do it… Go figure. I’ll be more mindful about it next time I wash though…. If it’s concerning hair, and Tracey says it, then it must be true! Thanks twin!! 🙂
